Development potential of a biogas CHP plant near city of Zagreb

Abstract

The city of Zagreb is the capital of the Republic of Croatia and is, therefore, the most interesting area for energy. A little less than 1 million people live inside the city, and there are large production and industries in its surroundings.Like the entire planet, the city of Zagreb and the Republic of Croatia are working to reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions, and the best way to do this is through renewable energy sources.Although there are increasingly small, private investments in renewable energy sources, larger projects that would cover a larger number of households must be considered.This thesis aims to investigate the potential and cost-effectiveness of building a biogas power plant near Zagreb and examine all their possibilities.
