Dachaufbau im stadthistorischen Kontext

Abstract

Die Städte sind erheblich verdichtet und aus diesem Grund verändern sich ihre Stadtbilder ständig. Verdichtung im Stadtkern ist oft nur mit Dachaufbauten möglich, wobei die städtischen und denkmalschützenden Instanzen den größten Einfluss auf die Realisierung haben. Die Entwicklung des Stadtbildes von Wien mit Schwerpunkt auf Dachaufbauten wird anhand ausgeführter Aufbauten und historischen Quellen analysiert. Unterschiedliche Beispiele aus Wien und der Welt werden verglichen. Mit den gewonnenen Erkenntnissen wird eine Suche nach dem richtigen Entwurf für Dachaufbauten im stadthistorischen Kontext durchgeführt. Als Ergebnis und Reflexion der diskutierten Thematik wird ein Entwurf für einen Dachaufbau im historischen Zentrum Wiens entwickelt und präsentiert.

The cities are significantly densified, and for this reason, their cityscapes are constantly changing. Densification in the city center is mostly only possible with rooftop structures, whereby urban and heritage conservation authorities have the greatest influence on their realization.The development of the cityscape of Vienna, with a focus on rooftop structures, is analyzed based on executed projects and historical sources. Various examples from Vienna and around the world are compared. Based on the insights gained, a search for the appropriate design of rooftop structures in the urban-historical context is conducted. As a result and reflection of the discussed topic, a design for a rooftop structure in the historic center of Vienna is developed and presented.
