Analyse der Drift-Barriere-Abhängigkeit bei der Dividendenoptimierung

Abstract

Diese Arbeit untersucht das Problem der optimalen Dividendenstrategie für einen Überschussprozess, der durch eine Brownsche Bewegung mit Drift modelliert wird. Im Mittelpunkt steht, wie die optimale Auszahlungsbarriere von der Drift abhängt. Für eine konstante Drift werden die bereits bekannten Ergebnisse erneut gezeigt, und zwar die Existenz einer konstanten Barriere. Auf Grundlage dieser Ergebnisse wird analysiert, wie die optimale Auszahlungsbarriere in Abhängigkeit von der Drift variiert, und es wird eine Charakterisierung für Grenzfälle gegeben. Insbesondere wird gezeigt, dass die optimale Barriere als Funktion der Drift ein nicht-monotones Verhalten aufweist. Im letzten Teil wird eine stückweise konstante Drift mit einem Sprung betrachtet. Die zugehörige HJB-Gleichung wird numerisch gelöst. Die Ergebnisse werden ökonomisch interpretiert, um zu zeigen, wie eine künftige Erhöhung der Drift die optimale Strategie beeinflusst.

This thesis considers the problem of the optimal dividend strategy for asurplus process modeled by a Brownian motion with drift. The focus is onhow the optimal payout barrier depends on the drift.For constant drift, known results are confirmed, namely the existence ofa constant barrier at which all surplus above this threshold is immediatelypaid out as dividends. Based on these results, we analyze how the optimalpayout barrier varies with the drift and provide a characterization of limitingcases. In particular, we show that the optimal barrier as a function of thedrift exhibits non-monotonic behavior.In the final part, a piecewise constant drift with a single jump is considered. The associated HJB equation is solved numerically. The results are interpreted economically to illustrate how a future increase in the drift affects the optimal strategy.
