Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) offers opportunities to
support UX design more efficiently. This study explores how GenAI
can be meaningfully integrated into existing UX design workflows
through interviews with five UX professionals and an introspective
analysis of a GenAI-assisted prototype design process.
Findings indicate that GenAI can enhance UX work by acceler-
ating text-based tasks (e.g. questionnaires), supporting early-stage
ideation, and expanding creative exploration. Rather than replacing
UX professionals, GenAI is best positioned as a creative companion
that augments, rather than substitutes, human expertise.
