Abstract:
This work investigates the estimation of near-field sound pressure from a vibrating ETFE cushion using the
Acoustic Radiation Matrix (ARM) method. ARM relates measured surface velocities to radiated acoustic quantities
through a precomputed impedance matrix, providing computational efficiency for broadband analysis. The
method is validated against finite element method (FEM) simulations at selected near-field positions in front of
the cushion. Results demonstrate close agreement in both global trends and local modal features, confirming
ARM as a robust and efficient tool for vibration-based acoustic characterisation of lightweight façade systems.
