Abstract:
The SmartHubs project examines mobility hubs, dedicated on-street locations where citizens can choose from different shared and sustainable mobility options. The main objective is to assess if a co-designed, user-centric development can enable mobility hubs to act as a game changer towards inclusive sustainable urban mobility and accessibility. The project has developed different tools that facilitate a co-design, user-centric development of mobility hubs involving users, governments and businesses to increase the attractiveness and adoption of shared and sustainable mobility modes. One of the tools is called the Co-design Tool for supporting the planning process of mobility hubs. The tool includes a set of gaming materials and a guiding handbook to enable living labs to design tailored Design Games, encourages and supports the communication between designers, users, researchers, and other stakeholders, and helps to reveal new insights more candidly.
