Abstract: 
This chapter synthesizes the integration of ethics by design and co-design methodologies in the development of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) technologies, addressing the ethical challenges posed by these innovations. After showing several notions of design and ethics, it underscores the necessity of embedding ethical considerations within the design phase of technology development and engaging stakeholders through co-design to align these technologies with users’ needs and ethical values. It attempts to systematize the considerations in an initial framework of integration of ethics into design practice.
