ISARENA - Neubau eines Fußballstadions für den TSV 1860 München

Abstract

Diese Diplomarbeit widmet sich dem Entwurf eines neuen Fußballstadions für den Turn- und Sportverein München von 1860 e. V. (TSV 1860 München).Als Standort wurde das Areal des ehemaligen Südbahnhofs sowie Teile des angrenzenden Großmarktareals gewählt – ein innerstädtischer Raum mit hohem Entwicklungspotenzial. Ziel meiner Arbeit ist es, an diesem Standort nicht nur eine funktionale Sportstätte zu errichten, sondern ein offenes, urbanes Bauwerk zu schaffen, das sich selbstverständlich in das städtische Gefüge einfügt und über den Spielbetrieb hinaus wirksam ist. Im Fokus steht die Fragestellung, wie ein Stadion zu einem lebendigen, öffentlichen Ort transformiert werden kann. Einerseits soll es als eine Stätte der Identifikation für den Verein und seine Anhänger fungieren, andererseits als Raum für Alltag, Austausch und Begegnung. Ergänzende Angebote wie Gastronomie, Vereinsmuseum und Kultur sollen die dauerhafte Nutzung sichern. Zudem erfolgt eine städtebauliche Betrachtung des umliegenden Areals. Dieses wird in funktionale Zonen aufgegliedert und mit Leitideen für künftige Entwicklungen versehen. Meine Arbeit zielt darauf ab, eine Architektur zu identifizieren, die sowohl atmosphärisch als auch strukturell überzeugt. Eine Architektur die emotional bindend wirkt, funktional durchdacht ist und in ihrer Präsenz Haltung zeigt. Das Stadion soll zu einem neuen städtischen Ankerpunkt werden, dass für das neu geschaffene Areal identitätsstiftend wirkt. Es soll zum Ausdruck gebracht werden, dass Sportarchitektur mehr sein kann als nur eine „Tribüne mit Rasen“.

This thesis focuses on the design of a new football stadium for Turn- und Sportverein München von 1860 e. V. (TSV 1860 München).The site chosen is the area of the former Südbahnhof station and parts of the adjacent wholesale market area – an inner-city space with high development potential.The aim of my work is not only to construct a functional sports facility at this location, but to create an open, urban structure that integrates naturally into the urban fabric and remains effective beyond match days.The focus is on the question of how a stadium can be transformed into a vibrant, public space. On the one hand, it should serve as a place of identification for the club and its supporters; on the other, as a space for everyday life, interaction and socialising. Complementary facilities such as catering, a club museum and cultural offerings are intended to ensure long-term use. In addition, an urban planning analysis of the surrounding area is carried out.This is divided into functional zones and provided with guiding principles for future developments.My work aims to identify an architectural design that is convincing both atmospherically and structurally. An architecture that creates an emotional connection, is functionally well-thought-out and makes a statement through its presence. The stadium is intended to become a new urban anchor point that helps to establish the identity of the newly created area. The aim is to demonstrate that sports architecture can be more than just a ‘stand with a pitch’.
