Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem stark versiegelten Hafengelände in Innsbruck,das aufgrund seiner großflächigen Betonflächen derzeit nur eingeschränkt genutzt wird. Besonders in den Sommermonaten entsteht hier eine erhebliche thermische Belastung, welche den urbanen Heat-Island-Effekt zusätzlich verstärkt.Durch die architektonischen Arbeiten von Zaha Hadid verfügt Innsbruck bereits über mehrere organisch geformte Bauwerke, wie die Stationen der Hungerburgbahn oder die Bergiselschanze, die das Stadtbild sowie die architektonische Identität der Stadt nachhaltig prägen. Aufbauend auf diesem Kontext entwickelt die Arbeit eine organische Formensprache für das Hafengelände, die sich in die bestehende urbane Struktur einfügt und zugleich gestalterische Bezüge zum Thema „Hafen“ herstellt.Ein weiteres zentrales Thema der Arbeit ist das Konzept der „schwebenden Architektur“.Durch das Anheben der Baukörper können versiegelte Bodenflächen reduziert,Freiräume geschaffen und Maßnahmen zur Entsiegelung sowie Renaturalisierung des Standorts ermöglicht werden

This master’s thesis examines the heavily sealed harbor area in Innsbruck,which is currently characterized by extensive concrete surfaces and is only used to a limited extent. Especially during the summer months, the area is exposed to signifi cant thermal stress, further intensifying the urban heat island eff ect.Through the architectural works of Zaha Hadid, Innsbruck already contains several organically shaped structures, such as the Hungerburg railway stations and the Bergiselski jump, which have had a lasting influence on both the cityscape and the architectural identity of Innsbruck. Building upon this context, the thesis develops an organic architectural language for the harbor site that integrates into the existing urban fabric while simultaneously reflecting geometries associated with the concept of a “harbor.”Another central aspect of the thesis is the concept of “floating architecture.” By elevatingthe building structures, sealed ground surfaces can be reduced, open spaces can be created, and strategies for depaving and renaturalization of the site can be implemented.
