Projekt Ruanda : zwischen Vulkan und Natur, Analyse der lokalen Materialien Ruandas

Abstract

Ruanda hat über die letzten Jahre ein rapides wirtschaftliches Wachstum zuv erzeichnen, was für die Bevölkerung einen steigenden Bedarf an nachhaltigen, lokale nund kosteneffizienten Baumaterialien sowie Bauweisen mit sich bringt. Diese Arbeit analysiert die aktuelle Lage der zur Verfügungstehenden und genutzten Baumaterialien in Ruanda und untersucht ihre ökologischen,wirtschaftlichen sowie technischen Potenziale und Verbesserungen. Im Fokus stehen traditionelle wie auch moderne Materialien, die für den lokalen Markt relevant sind.Ein wichtiger Schwerpunkt dieser Arbeitliegt dabei auf den nachhaltigen Materialien und den lokal verfügbaren Rohstoffen des Landes, um ein innovatives und effizientes Bauen für möglichst viele Menschen in Ruanda zu ermöglichen und zeitgleich die ländliche Wirtschaft zu unterstützen.Die Arbeit beginnt mit der Analyse der in Ruanda vorhandenen nachhaltigen Materialien. Aufbauend auf den daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnissen werden diese auf die Schwerpunkte der Verfügbarkeit, Kosten,Umweltverträglichkeit und soziale Akzeptanz analysiert, und im letzten Schritt werden Zukunftsaussichten auf nachhaltige Bauweisen erstellt.Abschließend werden die erarbeiteten Erkenntnisse in einer Strategie mit Empfehlungen dargestellt, die eine nachhaltige Bauwirtschaft mit Zukunftsaussichten in Ruanda ermöglichen und sowohl ökologische,ökonomische sowie soziale Aspekte umfassen.Die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit können zukünftige Projekte inspirieren, welche von NGOs, lokalen Bauunternehmer*innen oder engagierten Gemeinschaften initiiert werden, um im städtischen Raum eine ökologisch nachhaltige Architektur zu fördern.

Rwanda has experienced rapid economic growth in recent years, leading to an increasing demand for sustainable, locally sourced,and cost-effective building materials and construction methods. This study analyzes the current state of available and used building materials in Rwanda and examines their ecological, economic, and technical potential and improvements. The focus is on both traditional and modern materials relevant to the local market.A key focus of this study is on the country‘s sustainable materials and locally available raw materials, with the aim of enabling innovative and efficient construction for as many people as possible in Rwanda while simultaneously supporting the rural economy.The study begins with an analysis of the sustainable materials available in Rwanda.Based on the findings, these materials are analyzed with regard to availability, cost,environmental impact, and social acceptance.Finally, future prospects for sustainable construction methods are developed.Finally, the findings are presented in a strategy with recommendations that enable a sustainable construction industry with future prospects in Rwanda, encom passing ecological, economic, and social aspects.The results of this work can inspire futureprojects initiated by NGOs, local construction companies, or committed communities topromote ecologically sustainable architecture in urban areas.
