Abstract:
Grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES) exhibits extremely high magnetic permeability and low iron loss along the rolling direction (RD), making it well suited for transformer cores where magnetic flux is mainly guided along this direction. Many studies have been conducted to reduce the iron loss of GOES. For the development of the lowest-loss GOES, quantitative analysis of magnetic domain structures is essential. In our previous studies, we proved to quantify magnetic domain structures using 2-D Fourier transform (2DFT); however, the spatial resolution was limited. In this article, we propose Gabor-transform-enhanced 2DFT (G-2DFT) to improve the resolution of domain analysis. Furthermore, we introduce a computationally efficient approach to reduce the processing load of the G-2DFT. To verify the effectiveness of the G-2DFT method, we analyzed domain structures of GOES and compared them with manually derived results.
