Abstract:
This study analyses milled surfaces using Alicona measurements with various lenses, focusing on area-based surface evaluation. The analysis uses Alicona software, comparing different parameters and performing statistical evaluations. A key aspect is to assess the added value of area-based evaluation using Abbott curves, as well as the influence of the sampling interval on the parameters, in accordance with ISO 25178 standards. In addition, the study examines different surface regions to derive meaningful interpretations of surface functionality. The results provide insight into the practical application of 3D surface parameters and their relevance in the characterization of engineering components.
