At the beginning of the 20th century, a magnificent ecclesiastical building was built for the Jewish population in the City of Pan-evo. It was, however, the second building construction for the growing community. Before that, the Jewish population, that counted about 600 people, had to wait two centuries for the building of their own temple. On the initiative of the newly founded community, a suitable property was found for the creation of a synagogue. An architect from Budapest undertook the job of planning the building, which, in his entire career, was his first and only of this kind. His name was Karoly Fenyves and he was a student of the noted architect Lipót Baumhorn. During the planning of the synagogue, the young architect had to consider the resources and wishes of the Jewish community and include them into his drafts. The result of this was a building with a domed roof and a central room, predominantly held in Art Nouveau. The size and splendour of the building added further prestige to it. It is believed that, due to financial reasons, the inner side of the cupola was simplified and that the walls in the synagogue were coloured in a discreet shade of white. In the following, an other possibility of the large room-s design is elaborated. The synagogue did not suffer much from the first wave of destruction by the National Socialist Army. During the freeing of the city, most of the dome was damaged, which led to the privatization of the building. Finally, it was the new proprietors who tore it down. However, some documents of the planning and a few photographs of the synagogue survived. These were used for the virtual reconstruction and modelling of my work. Although the sources are incomplete, especially with respect to the central room, a representative model was constructed, which serves as a basis for necessary replenishment.
