The starting point of the thesis is the AIV Schinkel Competition of the year 2015. The planning area is the area on the east bank of the River Spree in Berlin's Karlshorst West district. The main focus lies in the development of the whole area through an organically inspired by nature roof as a part of public circulation route for cyclists and pedestrians allowing users and visitors to experience the environment and the neighborhood from a different perspective. The large-scale building is situated as a branched structure over the entire area and opens to the newly designed promenade along the Spree. The floor plans are flexible and adaptable organized preserving a wide range of uses to allow, such as housing, work, studios and public and cultural events. When planning the theme housing was mainly considered. The project is due to its shape and size is a positive, fun-filled contrast to the realities of the highly industrialized environment and should be attractive and starting point for a new urban life.
