VAU-Kommune (Vienna Agrar Utopia) : Infrastrukturen für ein neues Zusammenleben

Abstract

Ziel der Arbeit ist die Schaffung eines gemeinschaftlichen Wohnsystems, das den Aspekt der Selbstversorgung thematisiert. Es gibt immer mehr Menschen, die sich eine alternative Lebensform wünschen, welche bestehende Konventionen wie zum Beispiel das gängige Arbeitssystem, das Zusammenleben in der Kernfamilie und vieles mehr in Frage stellen. Als Bauplatz hat die Autorin bewusst einen urbanen Ort, nämlich Wien, gewählt. Ein Grund dafür ist einerseits die Tendenz, dass immer mehr Menschen in die Stadt ziehen und diese als Wohnort an Popularität gewinnt. Andererseits soll der für Kommunen oft typische Isolationscharakter vermieden werden.

The aim of this project is to create a common living-system, which contains aspects of self-subsistence. More and more people desire alternative forms of living - challenging traditional conventions such as the working system, core family structures and much more. The author deliberately placed the construction site in an urban setting, in this case Vienna. Since a growing number of people choose to live in the city, urban residency becomes more attractive. In addition, living in the city shall counteract feelings of isolation which can arise when living in a rural community.
