MedAustron is a center for ion-therapy and research in Wiener Neustadt. The accelerator-complex can be subdivided into the following sections: ion source and low energy transfer line, linear accelerator, medium energy transfer line, synchrotron and high energy transfer line. The linear accelerator can again be partitioned into two parts. A radio frequency quadrupole and a drift tube linac. The topic of this thesis is the commissioning work of the low energy transfer line and the radio frequency quadrupole in the framework of a test stand operated at CERN. Theoretical investigations are being paired with measurements and the commissioning with all its challenges is presented.
