Abstract:

By choosing discrete time intervals, which leads to an incomplete market, in which it is a priori not clear whether the Black-Scholes-Merton model is still applicable. In this thesis, the Black-Scholes-Merton model is presented at first and then, using the paper "Hedging Large Portfolios of Options in Discrete Time" by B. Peeters, C.L. Dert and A. Lucas it is shown that even in the discrete setting option portfolios have a clear price and can be hedged without risk by choosing a suitable hedging strategy that is different from the standard hedging strategy. It can also be observed that the hedge portfolio is significantly different in the limit of the portfolio size than in the continuous case.
