Die gegenständliche Masterthese befasst sich mit dem Thema des Ausbaues von Dachräumen in Wien und den damit verbundenen Problemstellungen. Nachdem der Dachausbau aufgrund der zu erzielenden Verkaufspreise ( zwischen EUR 17.000 und EUR 24.000 pro Quadratmeter in der Wiener Innenstadt) ein sehr profitables Projekt darstellt, hat sich seit den 80er Jahren eine Welle der Umnutzung der bis dahin leerstehenden Dachräume ergeben. In Hinblick auf den allgemein zu erwartenden Gewinn und der damit verbundenen 'Goldgräberstimmung' wurde in dieser Arbeit beleuchtet, welche Parameter bei einem solchen Projekt zu beachten sind, da sich im Zuge eines solchen Projektes viele Problemfelder ergeben können. Weiters wurden die Problemstellungen anhand der geltenden Vorschriften, Richtlinien und allgemeine Problemfelder untersucht, die seit den Anfängen der Dachausbauten verschärft und/oder erweitert wurden. Zusätzlich zu den Problemfeldern werden auch mögliche Förderungen und Sanierungsformen dargestellt. Die vorgestellten Parameter entscheiden im Endeffekt ob der Bauwerber mit einem Dachprojekt ¿Geld druckt¿ oder sich ein ¿Sorgenkind¿ eingehandelt hat.
