Eberhard, R. A. (2017).

In today's increasingly global and networked world, the demands for shorter development times, the increasing lack of resources, and associated industrial research, with its rising development costs, become one of the most important factors for companies and organizations. The opening of the innovation process with Open Innovation and thus, the use of the outside world, seems to be a suitable solution. However, it is difficult to assess the diversity of such innovations in services and information systems (IS), as well as the various dimensions of the performance that result from this. Aimed scientific and practice-based evaluation methods for entrepreneurial decision-making processes must therefore support a holistic investigation of performance and innovation aspects. This forms the basis for the research question: How can a scientifically based evaluation of the Open Innovation Performance be implemented for cloud platforms, which enables rapid and effective support for decision-making in companies? Therefore, for the evaluation of the Open Innovation Performance, on a scientifically robust basis, a new combinational approach from ranking-type Delphi procedures and a Multi-Criteria Framework (MCF) was chosen in order to develop a criteria catalog and scoring-model for easy evaluation. The practical application of the questionnaire and scoring model for the performance assessment and support of decision-making processes in companies and organizations for the SAP cloud platform (SCP) was tested and confirmed in principle.
