Halmer, B. (2014).

With regard to the subject of production planning and control (PPC), this thesis deals with the processes in a manufacturing company starting from costumer-s orders throughout delivery of services to the costumer. The question concerns the range of tasks which should be included in a comprehensive PPC, how the appendant order fulfillment process looks like and how improvements of the achievements of logistical objectives in a manufacturing company can be done. Following the `Aachen-PPC-model', the current state of the PPC at PT. voestalpine Bohler Welding Asia Pacific located in Indonesia is described through their planning tasks and the temporal and logical process sequence is being visualized thorough the business process of order fulfillment. By analyzing the status quo gaps in the implementation of the planning tasks and vulnerabilities within the order fulfillment process were determined. The results of this analysis in form of improvement potentials are incorporated in the content of the development requirements of a production planning tool. In addition to this, a base for continuous improvement of the achievements of logistical objectives is provided through the suggested target state of order fulfillment process, the well defined process hand over points and the proposed measurable key performance indicators.
