Abstract:

Objective of this work was the preparation and charcterization of diamond-WC composites. The materials should be prepared by standard PM techniques like pressing and sintering. Furthermore, the characterisation of the interface between the diamond and different metallic matrices was inmportant and was performed by either SEM/EDS analysis and high temperature wetting behaviour of the different alloys on diamond single crystals and bulk WC substrates, respectively.
