Diese Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit dem konzeptuellen Entwurf eines Weingutes in Karlovo, Bulgarien. Das 114 000 m2 große Grundstück (11.4 ha) liegt in einer geografischen Region, die bekannt ist, mit den optimalen Voraussetzungen für den Anbau von Weinreben. Darüber hinaus der Standort dieses Entwurfes befindet sich nicht nur am Rande eines historisch stark geprägten Ortes, sondern auch am Anfang einer der bekanntesten Bergwanderrouten Bulgariens. Unter Berücksichtigung aller Gegebenheiten des südlichen Hangs der Balkangebirge, wird durch das neue Gebäude, ein großes Spektrum von Funktionen angeboten. Neben den Weinherstellungsflächen werden auch Ausstellungsfläche, Hotel, Therme, Gastronomie und Konferenzbereich errichtet. Die Vernetzung der Funktionen innerhalb des Gebäudes, erlaubt eine gleichzeitige, unabhängige Nutzung der Gebäudebereiche für Selbstbeteiligung in der Weinproduktion, Erholung, Seminare und größere Veranstaltungen. Das Gebäude soll als Berührungspunkt zwischen der Weinproduktion und dem Tourismus wahrgenommen werden.

This master‘s thesis concerns itself with the conceptual design of a winery in Karlovo, Bulgaria. The site is part of a Bulgarian geographical region, which is famous with its good conditions for growing vines. The site‘s area equals 114 000 m2 (11.4 ha). The importance of the site and of it is the surrounding locations in not just their reference to the Bulgarian’s history, but also that they are located at the start of one of the most popular tourist paths in Bulgaria. Taking into account all the above-mentioned factors of the southern slope of the Balkan Mountains, the new building concept offers a bright functionality. In addition to the wine production areas, in the building are set up areas for exhibition, hotel, spa, gastronomy and conference. The positions of the functions in the building and the connections between them, allow the simultaneous and independent use of the building areas for excess in the wine production, recreation, seminars and larger events. The building should serve as a connection between the wine production and the tourism.
