Energy Efficient Communities : [Stadterweiterung - Wohnen und Arbeiten in Horn]

Abstract

Das Grundstück liegt etwa 80km nordwestlich von Wien in der Stadt Horn und ist 50 000m² groß. Der Bauplatz befindet sich direkt am Stadtkern von Horn. Hier soll ein neues Wohn-, bzw. Stadtviertel entstehen, dass den angrenzenden Meierhof im Westen berücksichtigt und in weiterer Folge miteinbezieht. Ziel ist es, dass eine Verflechtung des Bestandes mit dem Neubau zustande kommt.<br />Der Bauplatz liegt an einem Hang, der sich vom Norden hin, an dem die Kamptalbahn entlang fährt, bis zum Süden, an dem sich die Kläranlage befindet, 13m abwärts erstreckt.<br />Für den bestehenden Meierhof im Westen sind ein Motel, ein Seminarzentrum und Shared Space Offices geplant, die dann in eine flexible Wohnbebauung für Jung und Alt übergehen sollen. Erwähnt sei an dieser Stelle, dass keine Festlegung auf eine gewisse Generation, Altersgruppe oder Familienstand getroffen wird.<br />Energieeffizientes Bauen, Wohnen und Arbeiten, Passivhaus und Holzbau spielen bei dem Entwurf eine zentrale Rolle.<br />

The property has a size of 50 000 m² and is located in Horn, a town approximately 80km north-west of Vienna. The building site is located right next to the historic city centre of Horn and it is supposed to form a new residential area, respectively a new urban quarter, which includes the adjoining Meierhof in the west, aiming at integrating the new construction with the already existing buildings.<br />The construction site is located on a slope which extends 13m downhill from the north to the south, in the north being the Kamptal railway and in the south the sewage plant.<br />A motel, a seminar centre and shared space offices are intended for the already existing Meierhof. Those buildings should then merge into a flexible residential area for young and old. It has to be mentioned that the design does not favour any specific generation, age group nor family status.<br />Energy-efficient construction, living and working, passive house and timber construction play a major role in the design.
