Gengler, J. (2013).

This thesis deals with the reconstruction of a computer-based 3D model. This work consists basically in reconstructing a synagogue as detailed as possible through thorough research work, which was destroyed during the Nazi time, so that it can be preserved for posterity and thus will not be forgotten. The first part of the thesis will mainly treat the development of the city of Lodz, specifically the development of the Jewish population in Lodz. The reconstruction work is documented extensively in the second part. This means that there is a detailed documentation of the source materials such as construction plans or photographs, which have contributed to the reconstruction work. In addition, possible ambiguities that have occurred during the reconstruction work are listed. Furthermore, it is explained how the model with the different floors and layers has been established in ArchiCAD. Another theme of the work refers to explaining individual components of the synagogue and how they were reconstructed by means of the computer program ArchiCAD. Finally, those materials that supported the reconstruction work, such as photographs and construction plans, are listed in the notes.
