Abstract:
A unified and coordinated product development process can have a strong influence on the success of the company. In the fast-growing automotive industry and the associated growth of automotive suppliers, it is advisable to establish a uniform product development process, also called PDP, in the company structure. This makes it easy to generate a central and value-adding process for product and process development that can be monitored using effectiveness and efficiency indicators. The PDP delivers a fully developed and freely tested series product in accordance with the agreed requirements, which can be manufactured in the production plant without problems in accordance with a reliable manufacturing process. In order to get there, a multitude of activities are necessary. This paper describes a guideline for series product development, with special consideration of automotive suppliers. The subject of this thesis is the field of product project management, with special emphasis on the necessary processes of product development.
