Zwischen Stadt und Berg : Neugestaltung der Bergstation Kopitoto im Naturpark Vitosha

Abstract

Diese Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit der Neugestaltung einer Bergstation im Naturpark Vitosha in Bulgarien. Der architektonische Entwurf sieht die Beherbergung eines Besucherzentrums, eines Gastronomiebetriebes und einer Aussichtsplattform in der oberen Station der Gondelbahn "Knyazhevo-Kopitoto“, welche die Stadt Sofia mit dem Gebirge verbindet, vor. Im ersten Abschnitt der Arbeit wird die Lage der Station im städtebaulichen Kontext und in Bezug auf das Vitosha Gebirge analysiert. Die Situationsanalyse bietet einen Überblick über den Naturpark und sein Tourismusangebot und die damit verbundene Relevanz der Bergstation im Gesamtkontext des Gebirges. Der zweite Teil befasst sich mit der Konzeptentwicklung des Projektes mit Schwerpunkt auf die Formfindung, das Raumprogramm und die Wegeführung. Der resultierende Entwurf zeigt die Umsetzung folgender Konzeptideen: die Weiterführung der natürlichen Landschaft, die Einbettung der Bergstation in die vorhandene Umgebung und das Schaffen eines Panoramablicks, mit Rücksicht auf funktionale, ästhetische und konstruktive Anforderungen. Zum Schluss bietet die Arbeit einen tieferen Einblick in das Tragwerkskonzept, die konstruktiven Details sowie die Außen- und Innenraumwirkung des Gebäudes.

This master thesis deals with the redesign of a mountain station in the Vitosha Nature Park in Bulgaria. The architectural design presents the creation of a visitor center, a restaurant and a viewing platform at the upper station of the "Knyazhevo-Kopitoto" gondola, which connects Sofia with the mountains. The first section of the thesis analyzes the location of the station from an urban perspective and with regard to the Vitosha Mountain. The analysis provides an overview of the nature park, its tourism and the mountain station relevance in the overall context of the mountain. The second part deals with the concept development, focusing on the shape finding, the program and the building circulation. The resulting design represents the implementation of the following conceptual ideas: the natural landscape continuation, the embedding of the mountain station into the existing environment and the creation of a panoramic view, by considering the functional, aesthetic and constructive requirements. Finally, the work provides a deeper insight into the structure, the constructive details as well as the exterior and interior effects of the building.
