Abstract:
The strong competition and the associated cost pressure in the DIY sector require a permanent optimization of the business processes. Therefore the optimization potential in the key sectors of the transport logistics should be discovered and implemented in the markets. A need-based use of transport logistics offers the opportunity to optimize costs and to increase customer satisfaction. The ambition of this work is to adapt the industrial trucks to the prevailing conditions. The actual individual use of the industrial trucks is unknown. After a potential analysis of the current truck logistic, a concept for a cost-optimized logistic has been developed in collaboration with the store managers. The new concept ensures that the right trucks are at the right place at the right time available and the total costs of material handling equipments are reduced. The concept is tested in daily practice and will be continuously improved. The theoretical bases that the tools use are explained at first. It includes the basics for transport logistics and the time management methods. After the determination of the actual state, a method to analyze the truck use is developed. Based on those data, a needs-based approach is developed, tested and validated.
