The thesis at hand examines the design of a winery that also includes a wine tavern - in Austria referred to as "Buschenschank" - as well as a vinotheque. The respective plot of land that is to be used for this undertaking is called Hannersberg and is located in the South of Burgenland in the village of Hannersdorf. It has the size of approximately 7.000 square meters. Hannersberg is a place of peace, comfort and conviviality. The more famous vineyard Eisenberg, which is best known for the special sort of red wine that is called "Blaufränkisch", is situated in the immediate vicinity of Hannersberg. The aim of this diploma thesis is, on the one hand, to create a new home for the various kinds of wines made by vintners in the village as well as the surrounding neighbourhood and, on the other hand, to provide a special view of the process of winemaking to the visitors. The planned building is situated in the vineyards and should adapt itself to the necessities of the ecology. A further aim is to create the atmosphere that the vineyard can be felt inside of the building. The winery and the vineyard form a unity. Thus, the inclined surface constitutes an important element of the work. The shape of the building provides attractive, accessible outdoor spaces. In addition, various planting concepts present the original wine garden, which consists of various fruits and vegetables. A big ramp in the central of the building connects all functions and encourages passing the whole building from the wine production to the storage, to the selling further on to the drinking of the wine in the "Buschenschank", the bar or into the relaxation area. The main task of the work is to work with sensibility, to strengthen the character of the village and to express the inspiration of the landscape in the design of the building.
