The main purpose of this thesis is to offer alternative living spaces for students, where they can feel at home. As I have lived in the residential halls during my six-year university and post-graduate education myself, I have had the chance to accumulate lots of experience. I have capitalized on my know-how in this project. Determining the land area for this project, I have settled on the 3400 square meter land located on 2nd Bezirkte-Leopolstadt, taking into account its proximity to universities, transportation hubs and city center. To allow adequate and evenly distributed daylight to each room, residential hall is designed as a four apartment building complex. Quality air ventilation is another criterion, that has played a big part in the four apartment building complex decision. These four apartment buildings were positioned on a two-storey construction comprised of entrances and recreational facilities. The mentioned two-storey construction is designed so that it will not only provide the control of entry to the apartment buildings but also will offer variety of activities to hall residents and their visiting student friends. Residential hall planned to have 208-resident capacity offers two room alternatives: single and double. Room types range between 19-28 square meters, and all the rooms have balconies. Interior of the rooms were designed considering the needs of the residents.
