Abstract:
Edlitz befindet sich im Südosten Niederösterreichs, im Bezirk Neunkirchen. Die kleine Marktgemeinde liegt direkt an der Südautobahn A2 und nur ca. 27 km südlich von Wiener Neustadt. Zurzeit plant die Gemeinde kleine, kostengünstige Startwohnungen für junge Menschen bzw.<br />Alleinerzieher. Auch in der Analyse hat sich ein erhöhter Bedarf an kleinen Wohnungen im Zentrum des Ortes ergeben. In der städtebauliche Analyse haben sich zwei Besonderheiten herauskristallisiert: zum einen die Zersiedelung der Ortschaft durch Neubauten außerhalb des Zentrums, wo früher Landwirtschaft betrieben wurde und zum anderen die leeren Grundstücke im Zentrum bzw. die "Verwilderung" einiger baufälliger Gebäude im Bauland-Kerngebiet. Im Ortszentrum, rund um das Amtsgebäude gibt es viele alte, leer stehende, nicht mehr renovierbare Bauten, welche nicht gerade zur Verschönerung des Ortbildes beitragen. Da diese Grundstücke zentral im Ort liegen, beruht der Entwurf darauf, das Zentrum zu verdichten und zu vermeiden, dass neue Wohnsiedlungen am Dorfrand entstehen. Im Entwurf spielen barrierefreie Zugänge, Sitzmöglichkeiten und Straßenmöbel eine wichtige Rolle. Zusätzlich wurde auf eine landschafltiche Gestaltung geachtet, welche auf eine Benutzung unterschiedlicher Menschen ausgelegt ist. Barrierefreies Bauen beinhaltet nicht nur Bauen für Menschen im Rollstuhl, sondern viel mehr für alle Menschen mit Beeinträchtigungen. In Österreich leben rund 1,6 Millionen Menschen mit Behinderung. Alleine 50.000 Menschen sind auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen. Der Entwurf umfasst ein Betreutes Wohnen, einen Umbau eines früheren Gasthauses zur Werkstatt für behinderte Menschen und den barrierefreien Zugang zum Amtsgebäude. Auch in der Freiraumgestaltung wurde auf barrierefreie Zugänge für Alle geachtet.<br />Besondere Beachtung wurde auch auf das Thema Nachhaltigkeit gelegt.
