Abstract:
Users of carthographic products, in this case students, have different abilities to aquire and process spatial information out of carthographic presentations. For stu-dents especially the keeping of this information is essential.
Each individual student needs a different approach to the learning matter (in this case chartographic topics) and a different kind of presentation to improve his memorisa-tional skills. That is, students exhibit different learning styles and therefore they can be classified in different types of learners. Todays teaching aids often adress only some or just one of those learning types, whereas others are left completely unattended.
It is not possible to achieve a complete individualised presentation of the information just because of the use of a cartographic information system, but it is possible to en-able a user group specific transport of information.
Main target of this project is the introduction of a concept how a carthographic infor-mation system has to be build up if it is used as a teaching aid and which takes ac-count for learning and repetition phases.
Beside methodical basics of the concept-development exemplary implementations are discussed and thus tested for their viability.
