Die Dissertation befasst sich mit Lebensumstaenden von Menschen mit eingeschraenkter Mobilitaet und Menschen mit Behinderung gesehen aus dem Blickwinkel von staedtebaulichen und architektonischen, sowohl als Universal-Design Entwurfskriterien. Weiters werden soziale Konsequenzen und bestehende Ungleichheiten betrachtet, insbesondere anhand der vorherrschenden Situation in Griechenland. Die Arbeit umfasst folgende Themengebiete: Terminologie von Behinderung, Vorbilder und ideale Koerper, sozialer Ausschluss, Verhaltensweisen gegenueber Behinderung, Integration, Arbeitslosigkeit, die Rolle der Medien, Information und Bewusstseinshebung. Eine Recherche ueber den Grad der Sensibilisierung und Informierung von Schuelern bezueglich dem Themengebiet Behinderung ist integriert. Weitere Themengebiete: Raum, gebaute Umfeld, barrierefreier Zugang, Mobilitaet, Barrierefreiheit. Schliesslich wird eine auf barrierefreien Kriterien ausgerichtete geo-refenzierte Datenbank vorgestellt, genannt "AccOrD~4u2!". Das Demo wurde fuer das Stadtzentrum von Athen ausgearbeitet.<br />

The thesis reveals living conditions of people with reduced mobility and people with disability, from the point of view of urban and architectural composition and specifically of universal design criteria.<br />Social consequences and existing inequalities are treated as well, examining the existing situation in Greece in particular. The study comprises of domains such as: terminology of disability, prototypes and ideal bodies, social exclusion, attitudes towards impairment, integration, un-employment, the role of the mass media, information and awareness rising. A study on the degree of pupil's sensitisation and information as regards issues of disability is included. Further topics are: space, the built environement, universal access, mobility. Finally, a geo-coded GIS-database built on accessibility criteria, called "AccOrD~4u2!" is presented. The demo has been elaborated for the city centre of Athens, Greece.
