Battersea Flower The vertical Garden - from a Coalbased Power Station to a Garden to relax and live. In my diploma thesis i try to revitalize the Battersea Power Station in London. Because of its history and location the Power Station will become the New Town Center in the 'Nine Elms on the South Banks' Masterplan want is about to realized. It is planned to build hotels, shopping center with convention center, offices and apartments on this site. To Link a Project this size with the City it is planned to make a extension of the Northern Line. The project is one of the most important issues for London's recompression today. My question was what a Town Center should be in this Area. The last major park in London, with exception of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, was built in the 70's. Even with London's great garden tradition. So the question came up if it would be possible to design a public park without to neglect other functions like housing and the use of the Power Station as a research and cultural center.
