The aim of this minisymposium is to present the teaching and examining methods for distance learning using the e-learning platform "Möbius". We will present the way we utilize the possibilities offered by Möbius for exams and homework, and how this affects the quality of online written exams. We focus on the development of the examples where some parameters are randomly generated, but the level of difficulty stays the same for each student. The advantage of this approach is that every student is confronted with and individual, randomly generated set of examples, which makes exchange of solutions more difficult. In addition to this, a solution is accepted only when a student submits a detailed documentation of the calculation process. In order to ensure that the solutions do not come from a computer algebra system, even from those that provide detailed step-by-step solutions, some additional requirements are given, such as using certain steps or functions in the calculation. These methods of examination are used in introductory mathematics for engineering students, practical mathematics for physicists and linear algebra for physicists. Detailed examples for these three courses will be presented, with different challenges that were faced in the context of different subjects. We will present our experience with the three subjects mentioned above with a highlight on the advantages of using Möbius and some Moodle tools for online exams.
