Löffler, S. (2008). Synthesis, analysis and device integration of vanadium-dioxide nanowires [Diploma Thesis, Technische Universität Wien]. reposiTUm. https://resolver.obvsg.at/urn:nbn:at:at-ubtuw:1-29153
In the present work, VO2 nanowires were fabricated by a vapor transport mechanism.
The influence of temperature, pressure, gas flow, and oxygen addition was investigated. Epitaxial growth was found on quartz and sapphire substrates. Additionally, it was determined that the most common metal catalyst do not enhance the nanowire growth. The composition and crystal structure of the nanowires were determined by transmission electron microscopy and the structural phase transition was observed.
Additionally, the nanowires were contacted by electron-beam-lithography and lift-off methods and the thermally induced metal-insulator transition was investigated.
