Meusburger, M. (2018).

This master thesis describes the set-up of a multibody system dynamics model of the”Integral“ trainset. A fleet of 17 trainset’s of this vehicle type is in operation at theBayerische Oberlandbahn since 1999.During regular service some problems concerning the dynamic stability came up and theoperator of the fleet claimed those to the Molinari Rail Austria company. The MolinariRail Austria company is delivering technincal support for this fleet and has solved theclaimed questions in a conventional way. Now Molinari Rail Austria sees advantagesin efficiency of solving questions concerning the running stability of the trainset byusing a multibody system dynamics model. So Molinari Rail Austria has placed thewhish in having an appropriate tool to be able to estimate the risk of failures of singlecomponents or subsystems and their influence to the corresponding dynamic behaviourof the vehicle. Before setting up the model a topology scheme of the real trainset is issued in order tobe able to identify all bodies, their connections and all degrees of freedom of the system. The software SIMPACK is used for the creation of the multibody system dynamicsmodel. The detailing level is according to the requirements of the Molinari Rail Austriacompany and permits to enable, disable or change the characteristics of each componentin a direct way.A validation of this multibody system dynamics model consisting of a static and adynamic part is performed at the end of this thesis.
