In 2020 the human beings life and cities are in the midst of infinite growth. There is a premise to which all nations adhere: Humans are the measure of all things, nothing and nobody can stop us... We probably thought: Who or what can stop us? In the end, a world full of objects, social connections and more or less just laws emerged. Too much money, information, clothing, food ... too many offers, far too much of everything. A total abundance. Suddenly, both the uncontrollable actions of humanity and the planet Earth that we destroyed are paying us back with the corona virus. You could say that through this corona crisis our EU society has noticed what we are missing, namely the reference to the origin, which we have lost with our infinite growth. So I would say that through their actions people should care more about nature and the environment. This idea also includes our current and future way of living and how we build our houses. Now if we look back at any past type of building, the fortress, the castle and the palace offer a kind of life in connection with nature. They established the framework for a human life in small societies that existed autonomously and were self-sufficient. Therefore, with my thesis I want to present a modern form of the "ancient" architectural complex that can be included in a city. This building should be a part of the city or a building that is to be viewed both individually and as part of this higher-ranking city, which can also offer as much as you need to live. I have the whole concept derived from the following construction references: Saint-Riquier Abbey in Centula, today's St-Riquier from 1612, Laxenburg or Franzenburg, Rigel Jäger, Stolzents Castle in Koblenz by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, various Earthship biotecture by Taos in New Mexico, some pictures from the Mont-Cenis Sodingen training academy and projects by Frank Lloyd Wright. This building is a "multi-purpose castle", which I called "The Host Hill" for two different reasons. First, because it can serve both as an inn and as a place of residence, and second, because it is on a hill. This architectural complex or "multi-purpose castle" is intended to fulfill the two most necessary aspects of human life. First, enable the basic and everyday aspects of residents, i.e. water, heat, energy and food supply through the agricultural possibilities of the complex. The building also has a small shop and an office. Second, this complex offers the society a place where they can fullfill their human social needs. This second aspect relates to the purpose of considering this “multi-purpose castle” as a place of hosting. It should be a place where people can take refuge from their worries or problems. That is why some rooms can be made available so that guests can relax in the middle of the nature. In addition, seminar rooms are integrated in the building, as well as a small spa, a restaurant and a courtyard, with a stage. The whole complex allows the organization of larger events such as Balls, weddings, meetings, concerts, theater and cinema. In conclusion, it can be said that the "multi-purpose castle" offers a new way of life in nature with culture.
