In the course of this diploma thesis, a viable route towards the jatrophane typediterpene Euphosalicin will be investigated. A feasible approach towards jatrophane diterpenes in general and Euphosalicin, in particular, is the late-stage attachment of the macrocycle to the five-membered ring since last-mentioned is identical in many jatrophane diterpenes and therefore could give access to a variety of structurally similar compounds.The synthesis is planned to be applicable on a large scale, to provide enough material for further SAR-studies. Therefore optimizing reaction conditions will play a significant role in the course of this diploma thesis.
