Abstract:
Aim of this thesis is the development of a returnable container for the transport of stator bars. The work has been accomplished in dense cooperation with an industrial partner. The containers to be developed are needed for logistics purposes of the cooperating company. Up to date, single-use wooden boxes made by hand have been used. Due to increased logistics, single-use packaging is no longer economical and ecological acceptable. Through the thesis and the development of the new packaging (container), various known product development methods have been applied. VDI 2221 is taken as a guideline for the development process. Stator bars are highly sensible components. To meet the specific requirements, product design specification (PDS) lists have been developed. Based on the PDS, different concepts and solutions have been proposed using a morphological box. Different solutions have been assessed regarding costs and degree of performance. The assessment is the basis for a specific solution which is further processed to retrieve all necessary technical drawings as well as bill of materials.
