Nongre - zwischen zwei Welten - Kulturzentrum für Kinder in Ghana

Abstract

Diese Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit dem Entwurf eines Kulturzentrums für die Nongre Craft and Culture Foundation in Bolgatanga, Ghana. Neben dem Schulalltag haben Kinder hier die Möglichkeit ihre Traditionen zu erlernen und an die Bevölkerung weiter zu geben. Tanzen, Trommeln, Singen und Körbeflechten gehören zum alltäglichen Leben der Nongre Kinder. Die traditionelle Bauweise und Baumaterialien sowie die klimatischen Bedingungen prägen den Entwurf. Die Nutzung der vor Ort existierenden Baumaterialien ist wichtig für den Entwurf, da sie kosten-günstiger ist und landestypische Bautraditionen nicht in Vergessenheit geraten lässt. Bauen und Sanieren bringt die Menschen in Bolgatanga zusammen. Bei dem NONGRE Kulturzentrum soll dies beibehalten werden, um ein soziales Miteinander zu stärken. Die Lebensweise und der Alltag sind in die Arbeit mit eingeflossen, um den Kindern einen Ort zu bieten, an dem nicht nur Jahrhunderte alte Traditionen gepflegt werden, sondern auch das Gefühl eines zu Hause geboten wird.

This diploma thesis describes the design of a cultural center for the Nongre Craft and Culture Foundation in Bolgatanga, Ghana. The chil-dren who live there have the opportunity to learn their traditions and pass them on to the population. In addition to their school life, dancing, drumming, singing and weaving baskets are part of the everyday life of the Nongre children. The traditional construction as well as the clima-tic conditions characterize the design. The use of the building materials that exist on site is important for the design, as it is more cost-effective and sustains the local building traditions. Building and renovation brings people in Bolgatanga together. This should be maintained at the NONGRE cultural center in order to strengthen social interaction. Their spirit of life and their daily lifestyle in particular have been incorporated into my project. It is important to offer the children a place where not only centuries-old traditions could be maintained but also a kind of homelike feeling provided.
