Grünes Atrium Hochhaus: Ein neues Hochhaus für Kaisermühlen in Wien

Abstract

In der vorliegenden Arbeit plane ich einen 180m hohen Wohnturm an der Wagramerstraße 2, im 22. Wiener Gemeindebezirk angrenzend an die Donau. Der Wohnturm verjüngt und verformt sich nach oben hin und ist in der Form eines abgerundeten Fünfecks geplant. Mit dem Projekt verfolge ich das übergeordnete Ziel ein familienfreundliches Hochhaus mit hoher Wohnqualität für eine breite soziale Durchmischung an BewohnerInnen zu entwerfen. Mit dem Sockelbereich des Wohnturms möchte ich der Stadt und den BewohnerInnen einen öffentlich zugänglichen Raum zurückgeben. Die meisten Wohnhochhäuser kennzeichnen sich durch eine geringe Tiefe, um den Belichtungsanforderungen gerecht zu werden. Mit der Planung von Atrien an der Außenfassade konnte ich, entgegen üblich schmaler Wohntürme, ein tiefes Hochhaus planen und gleichzeitig eine ausreichende Belichtung bis ins Innere garantieren. Zusätzlich bietet das Atrium bauphysikalische Vorteile und dient dem Lärmschutz an der stark befahrenen Straße. Das Atrium ermöglicht des Weiteren eine windgeschützte und ganzjährige Benützung der Loggien, die eine realisierbare vertikale Begrünung des Hochhauses erlaubt. Das „Grüne Atrium Hochhaus“ steht in Beziehung zu der umliegenden Landschaft. Dabei wollte ich der häufigen Kritik, dass Hochhäuser nicht mit ihrem Standort verbunden sind, entgegenwirken.

In the present work I constructed a 180m high residential tower at Wagramerstraße 2, in the 22nd district of Vienna next to the Danube. The residential tower tapers and deforms towards the top and is planned in the form of a rounded pentagon. With the project I pursue the overall goal of designing a family-friendly high-rise building with high residential quality for a broad social mix of residents. With the base area of the residential tower, I want to give the city and its residents a publicly accessible space back. Most residential towers are characterized by a shallow depth to meet the lighting requirements. By planning atriums on the exterior facade, I was able to design a deep high-rise building, contrary to usual narrow residential towers, while guaranteeing sufficient lighting to the interior. In addition, the atrium offers advantages in terms of building physics and provides noise protection from the busy street. Furthermore, the atrium enables a wind-protected and year-round use of the loggias, which allows a feasible vertical greening of the high-rise building. The „Green Atrium Skyscraper“ is related to the surrounding landscape. In doing so, I wanted to counteract the frequent criticism that high-rise buildings are not connected to their location.
