Abstract:
The compressive stress of foams is of significant interest to manufacturers: It directly affects if a foam is suited for a specific usecase or not. Therefore, achieving exact outcomes in production is crucial. Computed tomography (CT) is a destruction free imaging process which is increasingly utilized in metrology to analyze the internal structure of industrial materials, for example their porosity. Subject of this paper is to find a link between pore parameters as well as their distribution in the foam and the compressive stress of the entire foam structure by using CT analysis and statistical methods.
