Erzeugung eines Wirkungsgradkennfelds einer Francis-Turbine mittels CFD-Simulation

Abstract

Die vorliegende Arbeit ist Teil des Forschungsprojekts „DIGI-Hydro“ und befasst sich mit der Erstellung eines Muschelkennfelds einer Prototyp-Francisturbine mittels instationärer CFD-Simulation. Dazu wurden über den gesamten Betriebsbereich 60 verschiedene Lastpunkte simuliert. Das Rechengebiet umfasste alle hydraulischen Komponenten von Einlaufspirale bis zum Saugrohraustritt. Zur Turbulenzmodellierung kam das SAS-SST-Modell zum Einsatz. Für jeden Betriebspunkt wurden 7 Umdrehungen gerechnet, wobei die letzten 5 für die Auswertung herangezogen wurden.Im Zuge des Forschungsprojekts wurden extensive Messungen im realen Betrieb der Prototyp-Maschine über neun Monate durchgeführt. Im Laufe dieser Arbeit wurde zusätzlich ein Software-Tool entwickelt, um diese große Datenmenge zu filtern und zu analysieren. Diese Messdaten wurden für Vergleiche und Validierung der Simulationen herangezogen.Die Simulationsergebnisse ergaben, dass im Best Efficiency Point und in der Volllast die Globalgrößen sehr gut nachsimuliert werden konnten. Allerdings nahmen die Abweichungen zwischen Messung und Simulation in der Teillast mit abnehmender Leistung zu. Frequenzanalysen zeigten, dass instationäre Strömungsphänomene, wie Wirbelzopf und Rotor-Stator-Interaktion mit der CFD nachgewiesen werden können und Betriebsbereiche, in denen Kanalwirbel in der Prototypmaschine auftreten, konnten bestätigt werden.Das generierte Wirkungsgradkennfeld ergab im meistgenutzten Betriebsbereich einen um 2-4% geringeren Wirkungsgrad als die Muschelkurve der odellmaschine.Aufgrund der hohen Unterschiede zwischen Simulation und Messung in der Teillast ergeben sich wesentliche Abweichungen der digitalen Muschelkurve zum Kennfeld der Modellmaschine.

This thesis is part of the research project ’DIGI-Hydro’ and deals with the creation of a hill chart of a prototype Francis turbine using unsteady CFD simulation. Forthis purpose, 60 different load points were simulated over the entire operating range.The computational domain included all hydraulic components from the inlet-spiralto the draft tube outlet. The SAS-SST model was used for turbulence modeling.For each operating point, 7 revolutions were calculated, with the last 5 being used for evaluation.As part of the research project, extensive measurements were conducted during the real operation of the prototype machine over nine months. A software tool was developed during this work to filter and analyze this large amount of data. These measurement data were used for comparisons and validation of the simulations.The simulation results showed that the global variables could be very well replicatedat the Best Efficiency Point and at full load. However, the deviations betweenmeasurement and simulation increased at partial load with decreasing power.Frequency analyses showed that unsteady flow phenomena, such as vortex ropeand rotor-stator-interaction, could be detected with CFD, and operational ranges where channel vortices occur in the prototype machine could be confirmed.The generated hill chart shows an efficiency 2-4% lower in the most commonly used operating range than the performance curve of the model machine. Due to the high deviations between simulation and measurement at partial load, there are significant discrepancies between the digital hill chart and the hill chart of the model machine.
