Jetting from single, laser-induced cavitation bubbles has been shown to be caused by boundary conditions of several different kinds, such as a solid boundary, a free surface or pressure gradients with a range of resulting jet velocities between few meters per second up to kilometers per second (see e.g. [1,2]). In most cases the jetting direction is in accordance with the symmetry of the problem, e.g. parallel to the boundary surface normal for infinite boundaries. In more complex geometries, as e.g. close to solid edges or corners, however, oblique jetting may occur, i.e. with a jetting direction non-parallel to the surface normal. In recent experiments with the XFEL at DESY in combination with 3D numerical simulations [3] oblique jetting of laser-generated bubbles near a flat, circular glass plate has been investigated.
