Transformationspotenziale für fossil befeuerte Kraftwerke

Abstract

In der vorliegenden Masterarbeit wurden auf Basis internationaler, realisierter und geplanter Fallbeispiele mögliche Transformationspotenziale für fossil befeuerte Kraftwerksareale identifiziert. Darauf aufbauend wurden standortbezogene Eignungskriterien für einzelnen Transformationstypen abgeleitet. Diese bildeten die Grundlage für eine systematische Bewertung der bestehenden fossilen Kraftwerke in Österreich mithilfe Geoinformationssystemen (GIS)-gestützten Analyse und der Python-Library pandas.Die Analyse ergab, dass, abhängig von den jeweiligen standortspezifischen Faktoren, insbesondere vier Transformationstypen sinnvoll sind: Renewable Energy Hub, Renaturierung, Rechenzentrum und Veranstaltungsort. Die Ergebnisse belegen, dass die GIS-gestützte Verfahren eine erste fundierte Einordnung und Planungsgrundlage ermöglichen. In this master's thesis, potential transformation pathways for fossil fuel power plant sites were identified based on realised and planned international case studies. Building on this, location-specific suitability criteria were derived for each transformation type. These criteria formed the basis for a systematic evaluation of existing fossil fuel power plants in Austria using GIS-based analysis and the Python library pandas.The analysis showed that, depending on the specific spatial characteristics of each site, four main transformation types are particularly viable: Renewable Energy Hub, renaturation, data center, and event venue. The results demonstrate that GIS-based methods offer a sound initial classification and planning foundation. However, for a successful implementation of transformation processes, it is also essential to consider economic, legal, and social aspects.
