Abstract: 
A re-evaluation of the objects deriving from the cemetery of Turah which are housed today in a diversity of museums turned out to be more challenging than expected. This is due to problems resulting from belated and incomplete inventories, the lack of a part of the objects and the loss or non-existence of ink inscriptions naming the respective tomb. Scientific analyses on copper objects, semi-precious stones and pottery vessels gave interesting results for places of origin and probable production centres. Especially challenging is the analysis of clays used for pottery vessels, as discrepancies were noticed between the macroscopic definition, the petrographic analyses as well as the results of Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA). While there is no doubt that further research is asked for, the inherent problems are discussed here.
