Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit behandelt die Themenbereiche Laborplanung, Laborbau und anschließend den Entwurf eines Laborgebäudes am IST-Austria (Institute of Science and Technology Austria) Campus in Maria Gugging, Klosterneuburg. Der städtebauliche Kontext auf dem Campusgelände und die Hanglage bilden einen wesentlichen Bestandteil des Projekts. Das Gebäude fasst mehrere Funktionen zusammen, um disziplinäre/interdisziplinäre Kommunikation und Forschung zu ermöglichen. Der Entwurf wurde auf einem vorgegebenen Raumprogramm aufgebaut und hauptsächlich für Forschungsgruppen der experimentellen Chemie konzipiert. Neben den Standard-Chemielabors mit den dazugehörigen Service- und Infrastrukturen wurden zusätzlich ein Reinraum, eine Bibliothek, Kommunikationsflächen und Arbeitsplätze für bis zu 60 Studenten eingeplant.

This diploma thesis deals with the topics of laboratory planning, laboratory construction, and subsequently the design of a laboratory building at the IST Austria Campus in Maria Gugging, Klosterneuburg. The urban context of the campus area and the hillside situation form an essential part of the project. The building combines multiple functions to enable disciplinary/ interdisciplinary communication and research. The layout is based on a space allocation plan and designed primarily for research groups of experimental chemistry. In addition to standard chemical laboratories with associated service and infrastructure areas, a clean room, a library, communication areas, workplaces for up to 60 students have been integrated.
