Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit gibt einen Überblick über die islamischen geometrischen Formen und ihr Vorkommen in der Moderne. Den ersten Teil der Arbeit bildet eine kunsthistorische Analyse im Zeitraum von den Umayyadan (756-929) bis zum Sultanat der Rum - Seldschuken (13.Jh n.Chr.). Daraufhin werden unterschiedliche Konstruktionsweisen näher erläutert und ein Einblick in die verschiedenen Mustervariationen gegeben. Die Basis der Diplomarbeit sind CAD-Zeichnungen, die sowohl „historischen“ als auch „neue“ Motive beinhalten. Im zweiten Teil werden die Vorkommen dieser beschriebenen geometrischen Formen in der heutigen Zeit analysiert. Der dritte und letzte Teil schildert die Variationen in der modernen Architektur und die detailliere Analyse darüber. Aus Gründen der Lesbarkeit wird in der Arbeit die männliche Form (z.B. Künstler) gewählt, nichtsdestoweniger beziehen sich die Angaben auf Angehörige beider Geschlechter. Die Masterarbeit ist sowohl für Studierende als auch für Lehrende interessant, da sie sich ausführlich mit dem Thema beschäftigt und neue Erkenntnisse bieten kann. This diploma thesis gives an overview of the Islamic geometric shapes and their occurrence in modern times.The first part of the work is an art historical analysis in the period from the Umayyadan (756-929) to the Sultanate of the Rum - Seljuk Turks (13th century AD). Then the different construction methods are explained in more detail and given an insight into the different pattern variations. The diploma thesis is based on CAD drawings that contain both "historical" and "new" motifs. In the second part is a description about the occurrences of these described geometrical forms in modern times. The third and last part describes the variations in modern architecture which are considered and analyzed in detail. For the sake of readability, the male form (for example, artist) is chosen in the work, nevertheless, the information refers to members of both sexes. The Master's thesis is interesting for students as well as for teachers as it deals extensively with the topic and can provide new insights.
