Schwab, B. (2016).

This thesis is concerned with the virtual reconstruction of the Synagogue in Frauenkirchen, which was destroyed at the beginning of the second World War. The Temple was inaugurated in 1883. A new building became necessary after two huge fires destroyed the jewish district, including the Synagogue, in the years 1778 and 1880. After the National Socialists took over the control of the City of Frauenkirchen, in 1938, all Jewish people were expelled. In the following years, 350 people were deported. The Synagogue was teared down in 1939. Resting upon all available data, a 3D model was created, using the ArchiCAD 19 software package. This model will - among other things - be used for preserving this long lost sacral building. The first part will take a look at the City Frauenkirchen itself. A short historical and geographical review delivers a perspective of the situation. Simultaneously, the development of the Jewish community and the Jewish district - including the history of the Synagogue - will be reviewed. The second part covers the building in particular. At first, all work regarding research will be registered to illustrate the resulting evaluation and conlusions thereafter. In conclusion, the final part contains the process of the visualization. The structural setup of the model and some rendered results are displayed.
