Abstract:

A field is speaking in algebraic terms a "nice" and closed structure. The theory of vector spaces can be build up from lower to higher dimensions pretty compact and the algebraic description of a projective space over a vector space is nice. But what happens if we replace the field by a ring? In this paper we deal with module theory and the question, how one can define the projective line over a ring. At this point we do not have to stop but can analyse an incidence structure over rings, the so called chain geometries. We are going to look for an algebraic description of the structure and of sub spaces, study affine approach and a model for specific chain geometries.
